SeatBoost and LATAM Airlines Sign a Contract to Launch Dynamic Live Auctions for Seat Upgrades

LATAM Airlines’ Passengers Can Now Bid for Premium Business and Economy Upgrades on Flights from Brazil, Peru, the US and more.

Los Angeles — 25 October 2024

SeatBoost, the pioneering live auction platform for airline seat upgrades, has signed a contract with LATAM group to bring a dynamic and interactive bidding experience to passengers by introducing real-time auctions for last-minute upgrades to Premium Business and Premium Economy seats, giving travelers the chance to enhance their flight experience in a fun, and innovative way.

Now available network wide, passengers flying domestically or internationally to destinations like New York, Los Angeles, Cancun, Punta Cana, Bogota, Buenos Aires, Mexico City, Lisbon, Frankfurt, Barcelona, Madrid and more can participate in SeatBoost’s live auctions. This marks the rollout across LATAM groups’ extensive network, with even more routes and regions to follow.

How it works
With just a few taps, passengers can access the SeatBoost app, input their flight details, and join the auction for an available upgrade. Bidding opens 24 hours before departure and continues up until just before boarding. Successful bidders will automatically receive their upgraded boarding pass on their device, making it a hassle-free process from start to finish.

“At SeatBoost, we’re passionate about transforming the travel experience,” said Kevin Stamler, CEO and co-founder of SeatBoost. “Our real-time auction model allows travelers to access premium upgrades with appealing starting bid prices and live action in the app, while airlines optimize revenue by seeing new demand data and filling unsold premium seats. It’s a win-win for everyone.”

SeatBoost’s live auctions have already proven successful with other airline partners in and outside Latin America. By joining forces with LATAM group, the leading group of carriers in South America, SeatBoost continues to innovate and provide airlines with new, customer-focused ways to boost satisfaction and revenue.

“Our participation in SeatBoost and its live auction for seat upgrades enhances customer experience, with a dose of innovation and more control over their journey”, said Mark Lamac, LATAM Airlines’ Ancillary Director.
