SeatBoost and Accelya partner to offer new retailing opportunities for airlines

Los Angeles — 29 July 2024

SeatBoost, a fast-growing pioneer in dynamic seat upgrade auctions and instant sales, has announced an integration with airline-first software provider Accelya to make their service available to airlines on Accelya’s FLX Platform. With this partnership, Accelya, a leader in NDC and Modern Retailing, makes a further step towards giving airlines control over their distribution, this time reaching the airports.

The SeatBoost platform creates new incremental revenue from premium seat upgrades for airlines. Moreover, using dynamic retailing capabilities in the departure window that deliver never before seen demand and willingness-to-pay insights, airlines who’ve incorporated SeatBoost see revenue improvements throughout their booking curves. By integrating with Accelya’s FLX Platform, SeatBoost and Accelya will be able to deliver better, faster, and more powerful commercial results and data insights to their airline partners.

Kevin Stamler, SeatBoost’s CEO says, “SeatBoost has long been mission driven to help airlines improve revenue outcomes. Whether it be through live auctions, instant mobile merchandising, or utilizing demand data, we wanted a partner who was equally obsessed with that mission, and could accelerate commercialization for both us and airlines. We are thrilled that Accelya, through their airline and retailing centric DNA, is that partner.”

The new partnership demonstrates the flexibility and modularity of Accelya’s FLX Platform and is a key move in bringing the power of modern airline retailing to airports. Accelya’s platform is known for being open and inter-operable with multiple technologies. Andrew Wilcock, Accelya’s Chief Revenue Officer says, “SeatBoost are a true pioneer with a track record for helping airlines optimize revenue through dynamic retail upgrading capabilities. Our FLX Platform is open by design, allowing airlines to integrate their existing solutions, or add innovative services such as SeatBoost.”

SeatBoost’s innovative mobile platform maximizes upsell opportunities for airlines after passenger check-in when willingness to pay changes dramatically and helps airlines create further value at the end of the retailing chain. Accelya’s FLX Platform customers can now benefit from turnkey implementation to offer live auctions or instant sales of seat upgrades in a fully automated way, including new boarding pass delivery.

This partnership highlights that airlines can effectively consider airports as an outlet in their omnichannel retailing strategy even if they have limited control over that environment as well as limited staff and time to actually sell. As the industry moves towards evolving service delivery using modern, self-service technologies, SeatBoost and Accelya are in position today to help airlines create new, better, positive customer experiences.
